HORSE RACING TERM
Claiming Race
In a claiming race, every entered horse can be bought ("claimed") for a set price before the race. This keeps the competition even — an owner risks losing a horse that's too good for the level. Claiming price signals class: a drop in claiming price is a common positive angle, while a sharp rise must be justified by the figures. HandicapIQ reads all of this off your uploaded program automatically.
