HORSE RACING TERM
Favorite
The favorite is the horse taking the most money, and therefore carrying the lowest odds. Favorites win roughly a third of all races — which also means they lose two-thirds of the time. A "false favorite" (a short price with a real flaw) is one of the most profitable horses to bet against. See how calibrated probabilities expose them.
