Beyer Speed Figure
The Beyer Speed Figure, created by Andrew Beyer, is the most widely-followed speed figure in North America and appears in the Daily Racing Form. It rates each performance on a single scale adjusted for track and distance. Because it's so public, the top Beyer is often over-bet — the value is in reading the figure pattern and pace context, not chasing the single highest number.
