Wire-to-Wire
A horse wins wire-to-wire when it leads from the opening "wire" (the start) to the finish, never headed. It's the classic result for a front-runner that gets a soft, uncontested lead. Projecting whether the lone speed can steal the race unpressured is exactly what pace handicapping is for.
